On Wednesday 6th October, Revd Sheila Coop and Revd Jean Hurlston were pleased to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (equivalent to an MBE) on behalf of the Oldham Street Angels project which is part of the Oldham Town Centre Chaplaincy.  The presentation was made by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester Sir Warren Smith in the Great Nave of The Monastery, Manchester.

The receipt of the award will be recognised by all the Oldham Street Angels volunteers, old and new, as they come together to celebrate their 10th anniversary in November and each will receive an official badge in recognition of their commitment to keeping people safe in Oldham Town Centre.
