About Us

The Aims of GMIM are:-

The advancement of the Christian religion among persons employed in Industry and Commerce within the Greater Manchester area by the provision of Industrial Chaplains and Lay Helpers.

To work with people of other faiths and those of none in providing Chaplaincy Support Services and Community Projects to aid those engaged in economic life.

The following members have served on the Greater Manchester Industrial Mission Council during the year:

Canon Michael Cooke, RC Diocese of Salford and

Representative from the Presidents of Greater Manchester Churches Together

Mr David Tomlinson – Chair, GMIM Council

 & Representative Bolton Chaplaincy Management group.

Mr James Callaghan – St Antony’s Centre for Church & Industry

Mr Kevin Flanagan – St Antony’s Centre for Church and Industry (Charity Secretary)

Rev George Lane – Senior Chaplain Manchester Airport Chaplaincy

Rev John Piper – Oldham Town Centre Chaplaincy

The Council meets quarterly to oversee the management of GMIM.

We welcome lay members to serve on the Council who wish to support the Charity and its aims.

The Council has powers to appoint members to serve, subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting.

Members serve for a 3 year term and are the Trustees of the Charity
